It varies as to the site, extent, and type of cancer. Brain cancer occurs in several types and in multiple locations. The cancer may be inoperable because of location or extent. Some types of brain cancer grow slowly but are inoperable because of location. Glioblastoma is often inoperable and survival is measured in a few months.

This varies from patient to patient and depending on how advanced the brain cancer and whether or not it is dormant or actively spreading to other parts of the brain. If spreading is occurring then someone may only live 4-6 weeks.

Your question is not sufficiently specific. There are many types of brain cancer and not all follow the same time course. Not all are inoperable because of aggressiveness; many are inoperable because of location. A slow growing tumor in critical location may give longer survival than fast growing tumor inoperable because of cell type in a non critical location.
