The statute of limitations is different in nearly every state, so you will need to look it up. Search for the answer online, or call a local attorney.

Old medical bills can be collected for up to seven years, according to law. However, if you should make a payment even one day before seven years is up, the account beginbs anew and you would have to wait yet another 7 years before you would not have to pay.

Medical bills are treated in the same way that most debt is treated. The statute of limitations is typically seven years which is counted from the first day that you went into default. If a company is trying to collect a debt after this period of time, it is best to dispute the debt in writing.

No there is not. They never expire. Due to the fact that the collection agencies make money off you paying off the bills they like to get their money and will not stop until they do.
