Answer by  Mable (3008)

Nearly every American institution has a history of discrimination and in some it remains to this day. This includes schools, colleges and universities; churches, towns, cities, and state laws; libraries, sports facilities and teams. In these and many more institutions, there have been rules excluding or diminishing Afircan americans.

Institutional discrimination was practiced explicitly through the 1970s (and later in some places), meaning that African Americans were barred from working, dining, sleeping, marrying, or living in some places.
