How do you write a condolence letter?

I'm very awkward with this kind of thing.

Best advice - be sincere. A sincerely wordly note, even if it is not flowerly or full of prose will mean the most to the person receiving it. Don't try to underestimate the grief or make any jokes, just be sincere with your words of condolence and that will come through to the reader.

Most people tend to think you must write a LONG condolence letter or make a LONG condolence speech when you are greeting someone that is grieving. Keep your letter short, sincere and to the point. for example, "I am so sorry for your loss, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am here if you need me".

Simply express your sincere condolences for the person's loss. You may include a scripture, poem, or other quote that you feel may help the person, and you may include a special memory of the person who has passed that you think would help the person receiving the letter. Write from the heart.

When writing words of condolences on behalf of someone, you can say it like this "I am very sorry to hear your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family." Be nice and tender, sensitive, sympathetic and caring. Cathy, obituarieshelp
