How do you write a cancellation letter?

I just plain don't want my paper anymore.

While courtesy is mandatory in business dealings, a letter of cancellation must be clear and firm. Date the letter and clearly mandate that you are ending your subscription, alongside an expectation as to when billing will stop, or a refund will be applied. Sign in your own handwriting.

A cancellation letter does not need to be long. Be specific about what you want to cancel: the name of the paper, when it should stop. Ask for a refund or a bill, depending on whether you have prepaid for the issues. There is no obligation to explain your reasons; it is often better simply to stop the subscription.
