A good westerly looking view would be the best angle. The weather conditions, visibility, and cloud formations will play a vital roll in the video capture. Try to get above any obscuring objects such as trees, or just avoid them. This will ensure the video clarity of the sunset. Objects can enhance the video as well.

Use a tripod, shoot across a body of water gives a cool effect. use at least a 30 minute tape. estimate the point of horizon it will disappear into, with no man made obstructions in sight. let it even after it has set, making for a good transition out.
