How do you use tread wear indicators?

Do all tires have them?

They are really simple, they will be all around your tire. When the normal tread is almost as low was them replace your tires.

Tread wear indicators are bands across the tire from side to side of shallow tread in the patterns which indicate the life of the tire has ended they will appear bald the soonest and will be clear to see. All modern manufactured tires have had them since the late 1980's.

The tire wear indicators that are made in to some tire expose an indicator as rubber is worn off. This visually shows you that a specific amount of rubber is left. Not all tire will have these indicator. If yours don't you can buy a special tread depth gauge to measure how much tire tread is left.
