Without knowing the exact OS, this is a little non-specific. All you need to do is select the options in any folder and then check the box labeled "view hidden files and folder" and then choose the option to "apply this to all folders".

To un-hide a folder that has been put on option HIDE by the user on the desktop, you need to click on the Folder preferences ( RIght Click on any folder). After this, select the second column and click SHOW HIDDEN FOLDERS AND FILES. This will show the folder.

open my computer, In the menu bar, go to tools then folder options and then tick "show hidden files and folders". Now you will be able to see your hiddet folder on the desktop. Just right click on the folder, in properties, un-check the option "Hidden". Apply the settings. That's it.

Go to Control Panel, click "folder options," click the "view" tab, and scroll down until you find a line that says "Hidden files and folders. " Below that should be two options: "Do not show hidden files and folders," and "show hidden files and folders. " Click on the second one to un-hide all hidden files or folders.
