After the problem is fixed you need to erase the store code. The proper way to do this is to use a scan tool. Otherwise you can unhook the battery.

The best way would be to fix the issue, you just cant turn the light off, sensors in the car will turn it back on. You can pull out the blub by removing the dash.

If you know someone with a hand-held code scanner then have them turn it off for you. Some auto parts store that do free code scans may also clear out the codes for you. Another method is to unhook the battery for a few minutes to reset it. This will also reset all the other electronics like the stereo.
