One of the most important things is to find out what caused the rash. If it came from something your dog's skin came in contact with you need to identify it so it won't continue to cause the rashes.

It depends what the rash is from. A vet can prescribe a steroid that will minimize an allergic reaction, but you want to know what caused the rash in the first place. Your dog could have layed in something he was allergic to, or it could be a skin allergy related to food.

The treatment depends on what the dog got into that caused the rash. You have to find out what kind of rash it is before treatment can be effective.

You need to know why it happens- is it sand, fleas, allergy? Bag Balm is very efficacious. However, this is only a stop gap for minor, temporary issues. This could be serious. You may have mange, a genetic or nutritional deficiency or a condition requiring your trusted vet and a course of prescribed antibiotics and medical baths.
