There are a few options. The least technological method is to enter them one at a time into your new phone while looking at your old phone. You can also save them to your SIM card and switch that to the new phone. Phone stores will help you do this for free.

The easiest way is to visit an ATT store with both phones and have them do it for you. Another way is to transfer your contacts from your phone to sim card, then insert the sim card into the new phone and transfer them off the card and on to the phone.
