Just like any other dog, its easier to teach pitbulls when they are younger. Athough, adult pitbulls are just as receptive to training. Start simple and work your way up.

Be firm, yet assertive, just as in training any dog you want to appear as the alpha dog in the "pack". Also be consistant.

Train them as you would train any dog. Refer to "How To Be Your Dog's Best Friend" by the Monks of Skete. It's a classic.

Pit bulls are fairly similar to any other breed in terms of training. Each dog is an individual regardless of breed, so different training techniques might work better than others.
