Subleasing is just when you rent from someone who is not the owner. It depends on the terms of the lease if it's allowed or not.

Subleasing of an apartment is only allowed if it is stated as allowable in the original lease, or if you have the landlord's opinion to sublease the unit. You normally have to allow the landlord to see an application by the new tenant first.
