Determine a reward that is only available by stopping the bad habit. For example, a reward for not biting your nails would be a manicure. Pick a periodic measurement time and deposit some money toward the reward each time the period is met. For example, each day you do not bite your fingernails, save $1. 00 toward your reward.

Try chewing on something else such as gum so that it makes it really hard to chew on your nails and pens while working. As far as fidgety fingers goes try keeping yourself busy with other things.

Diverting your attention might help if you're a biter. Whenever you feel the urge to bite on your nails, your pen, or anything else try chewing on a piece of gum to curve the craving. Make sure the gum is sugar and calorie free!

First, you need to try and understand why you are doing these habits. Consult with your doctor to see if perhaps it is a larger problem.
