You can by Gel for nail biting that you apply to your finger tips. It tastes very bad, so that you are essentially punished each time you bite your nails.

A physical aid might be useful. something really bad tasting on your nails and maybe rubberbands on your knuckles. Some people have success with hypnosis. Try rewarding yourself for NOT cracking or biting. Get your friends and family to help you by reminding you if they see you begin. Put up little reminder signs.

By clearly understanding the fatal side effects of the behavior and looking into the circumstances that trigger the habit. The habit could be as a result of low self esteem or being too nervous and biting the nails could only be a way to avoid facing the facts at that instance. Work on your self confidence.

Sheer will is not very likely to break bad habits, however replacing them with other less damaging ones has often found success.
