Older computers come with Recovery CDs in which case simply load the discs, restart the computer, then follow the onscreen directions. Most PCs nowadays come with the Recovery data preinstalled into the harddrive; in this case run the appropriate program or restart, hold F8 or F10, and follow onscreen directions.

To restoer your computer your friend probably means to reset it as if it just came out of the factory, to do this you need the original disks that came with the computer and you must put the first one in the computer and turn it on and follow all directions to a tee to do a full restore.

To restore a computer you will need either a computer with a restore option built in or a cd that allows the restore option to be selected. By selecting this you can restore just the system files or the computer itself. It is best to backup important files and then restore completely
