How do you replace a Ford Taurus water pump?

Drain the radiator using the bolt at the bottom. Remove the hose running from the radiator to the pump. Remove the bolts holding the pump to the engine. Scrape off old gasket and replace with new sealant. Bolt new water pump to engine, wait 20 mins then replace hose and coolant in radiator.

Unfortunately, the Ford Taurus water pump is located on the side of the engine. You will need a special tool that will run you a couple of hundred dollars to remove the water pump which it is highly recommended to let a mechanic handle this operation.
