How do you repair the tray of a Playstation two?

If you're having problems with the tray it's best to contact Sony directly as the system is difficult to maintain without a good understanding of how the internal mechanism works.

Depending on the damage to the tray it may be possible to fix it yourself. Simply give the tray a good yank to remove it from the console and 'stick' it back together. If you can get the tray back into once peice it will easily slot back into the Playstation console.

Look online to find a proper Playstation two blueprint to help you disassemble the console. Usually there are guides to help repair the tray.

I strongly recommend that sending the unit to the manufacturer. If you want to try to fix this yourself there are 4 screws on the bottom to open it up and take a look.

to repair the tray on the playstation2. you must get the tray off and then replace the plastic gears. a professional would be able to do this better than most.
