It takes a lot of patience and a steady hand. You'll need to remove the broken glass carefully with a putty knife, measure and cut a replacement piece, and then reset it. You may need to purchase additional lead strips to finish it.

lead melts at a fairly low temperature. its possible to fix the frame with a large soldering iron like whats used for gutters. if the glass is broken it can often be remelted while in the frame.

you can get hold of glass lead from most hardware stores as well as the internet, you need a blow torch / gas stove and something to play the metal, i. e a flat headed screwdriver or there are specialist tools availible.
