You mean you spilled acetone on something made of plastic, or a paint job? Usually you can repolish the surface with an auto paint cutting compound, like T Cut. Use the finer grade for a good finish on plastic. If the damaged item is polycarbonate and strength related, like a crash helmet, it will be weakened and should be discarded.
