How do you repair a Packard's temperature gauges?

Packard temperature gauges are probably not repairable, replacement is the only option. Finding the correct gauge may present a challenge. Knowing the year and model, use a search engine to locate the replacement part. If you are restoring the Packard to museum quality, only genuine Packard parts will be acceptable, otherwise, aftermarket gauges, like SW, will be acceptable.

ou are not going to be able to repair the gauge but you can purchase a new temperature gauge at any auto parts store.

It is probly the temperature sensor that is not working. Replace the sensor and see if the guage still doesn't work. If not, then replace the guage altogether.

In order to repair your temperature gauges on this vehicle you will need to take apart the console that goes to your gauges. Once you have that taken appart your can do further repairs to the gauges.

Tin EACH tube PRIOR to cutting Tin INSIDE of splice tube ,blow compressed air Solder splice tube to gauge tube first. cut bulb tube and stick it in splice tube,apply heat.
