How do you remove the smell of smoke from pictures?

removal of the first thing is to scan them high resolution is better. then soak one of the photos in a pan of water with a few drops of clear detergent,move the photo over to the another pan of clean water and let it soak a while longer.

A smell is volitile and evaporates from whatever it's on. Because of this effect placing pictures into a freezer and allowing the compessors to pull all of the volitile elements out of them can make for a very big improvement. Your ice cream may end up smelling like smoke, though. Baking soda will help that.
