How do you remove soap scum from dark tile grout?

I have soap scum stains on my tile grout, I am worried that using anything with bleach will damage the tile, can you advise me on what to use?

Products containing bleach won't harm the darker colored grout. If your'e concerned there are other products such as comet or limeaway that will remove the soap scum without the bleach. Using a scrub brush will get to the grout easier than a sponge or scrub pad.

When it comes to grout, you are definitely going to need to put a little elbow grease into it. Try using a toothbrush with Kaboom cleaner. I have also had success with a "bleach Pen" which allows you to dispense gel only to the grout without damaging the tile.

Oxyclean works great because it does not contain bleach and will not stain your tile. I found that the powder form works best because you can mix it thick. If that does not work, try mixing together vinegar, borax powder and hot water together. Use about a cup of each, more water if needed.

You cannot damage ceramic tile, except with a hammer. Properly mixed bleached with water should do the trick unless you have dark grout.

White vinegar works well as a substitute for bleach in most cases. Try it in a corner first to make sure it doesn't discolor.

Assuming your tile is not a calcite stone, you will have the best luck using an acidic cleaner - acetic acid or muriatic acid and a stiff bristle brush. If tile is stone, you must use an alkaline cleaner and results aren't as good. Consider sealing your grout after cleaning.

They make products for this type of thing. You might also be able to use some limeaway. You might also just want to try using comet or something like it to see if it helps.
