How do you remove a fuel pump from a Nissan pathfinder?

You'll need to remove the fuel tank from underneath the car by removing the straps. The pump is on top, submerged in the tank. You'll need a special tool (tool J-45722) to remove the retaining ring. You may be able to rig a tool together.
