Each state has codes when it comes to the placement of electrical outlets. You will need to know what your specific state requires. Many have restrictions not only on placement , but on the height of the outlets. You will wnatto contact a licensed electrical contractor to find out teh rules for your state.

You need to re-route the wiring in your walls. Trace a path from an existing outlet to where you need a new outlet and carefully cut away the drywall. Then splice new wires from the existing outlet to the new one and replace and repair the drywall.

Outlets are used to plug in our devices. Take the outlet from receptacle box and detach the wires. Fish the cables to new location. Open the knockout for each cable in the retrofit box. Remove the wires. Put the retrofit box into hole. Fix it to wall using screws. Connect the wires to outlet and screw it. Cover the outlet.

Your best bet is to open the phone book and call an electrician. Besides the safety issues involved with messing with your wiring, an electrician does this all the time and can do it quickly and easily. It probably won't even cost a lot! It's probably easier to add new outlets then worry about moving existing ones.

They safest way to do this is to have an electrician install a new. Moving them is more work then necessary. Typically the just run a new section of wire and install the outlet where you want. However they can remove the old one if you like.

This is fairly simple. You need to install old work boxes in the locations you want the outlets and then re-route the wiring from the existing outlets to the new locations. Once complete you can remove the old boxes and patch the holes or cover them with blank covers.

For any home electric project, it's important to know what you are doing. I would hire a professional electrician to move them. Your other option is to go to a good hardware store and talk to one of the salespeople there.

You can't really "move" outlets, but you can install new ones. Your best bet would be to hire an electrician, unless you're begging to be electrocuted. Good luck with getting that outlet anyhow.

You will have to cut out the box first off. Then you will want to use a cut in box for where you want to move it to.
