Adjacent angles are easy to measure because you know that the sum of the two angles has to equal 180 degrees because that is the angle measurement of a straight line so if you know one of the angles you subtract it from 180 to get the measurement of the other angle.

Adjacent angles can either refer to pythagorean theorem or angles that are next to eachother when one straight line is cut by another. Those later adjacent angles are found by noting that the two angles add up to 180 degrees so subtract the known one from 180.
