How do you make sure you get a job interview after you drop off the application?

There really isn't any way to do this. All you will have to be is a little bit more qualified than the other applicants. It's hard to get an interviewer's attention.

Neatness counts, and being qualified for the job is very important. Also, if you drop off the application directly to the manager or whomever does the interviewing and ask when interviews will be conducted, that should endear you with that person and they will remember you.
