That I know of, curry always takes curry powder. An easy recipe is to use about a table spoon of powder with a can of cream of chicken and milk.

Curry is like salsa, it depends on the recipe. Curry powder can contain curry leaves. Turmeric, which gives curries a distinctive yellow color. Other spices in curry powder can include coriander, ginger, garlic, chilies, pepper, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, cumin and tamarind. Different cultures use different blends of spices.
