Keep in mind that when making a wrestling ring safety will be the biggest concern in it's use. To continue, a typical wrestling ring that you would see on television is an 18x18 square. The mat should sit about 3 feet off the ground. I would suggest steel over wood.

If you are referring to a professional wrestling ring, WWE usually uses a 20' ring so each side, corner to corner, would need to be 20' long. The ropes will need to be about three feet high, with a foot of space between each rope and that should do it.

Corner to corner, the ring will be between 20 & 24 feet square, three feet off the floor and the ropes will be five feet above the canvas.
