A log cake is baked in a flat sheet pan on parchment paper. After cooling, the top is iced and rolled up to resemble a log.

The pan is similiar to a cookie sheet but it has sides. Bake the cake, cool, fill the cake and roll long ways on the sheet. Roll with a towel.
