One of the easiest ways is to use a pinecone. Dip it in honey, or spread peanut butter on the pine cone. Then you can sprinkle birdseed on it. Alternately, you can roll the sticky pinecone in the birdseed. Attach a string to the pinecone and hang it on a low tree branch outside.

Get a round wooden salad bowl at a garage sale, have your husband or you attach a thick dowel rod to the bottom. You can put this in the ground. Get a aluminum pan and set in the bowl and pour in bird food. You can use anything around the house.
