The easiest thing would probably be to buy cake mix from the baking isle of the grocery store. You just follow the back of the box, usually add a few eggs and then water or milk to the mix and then baking it. Just follow directions and add icing!

Visit your local grocery store. Pick up a box of cake mix from the baking aisle and a a container of frosting. Follow the directions on the back of the box. Frost completed cake, put candles in, and sing happy birthday to your hubby!
