How do you locate an IP address?

I am trying to figure out if two email addresses have the same source.

To locate you ip address goto all programs - accessories - command prompt. At command prompt type in the word ipconfig and hit enter and your address will show.

While connected to the internet open a command window (Start, Run, cmd, enter). In the window type [NBTSTAT -a ]. Replace the with the domain of the email account you are checking. The domain is the remaining value after the @ sign.

There are multiple websites you can go to that will track IP addresses. There is also a method of drawing the sender IP out of the email itself.

In order to locate your IP address you will need to go to sthe start menu if you are using Windows 2000/XP, go to run then type Cmd.

Well all you have to do is use an ip look up or whois search and it should provide you with the information you want to know. However it won't give very specific information about an address. Also note that ip address can be fake in emails.
