How do you identify caterpillars?

caterpillars have defferent colors like brown,green,and spripe caterpillars and sometimes they are hairy. u know its caterpillars when it crawls,and eat leaves they are very tiny maybe 5 inches long or sometimes its fat like 10 inches,thats base on what I ve seen. and ofcourse they dont have wings. you can see caterpillars on the leaves.

I identify caterpillars as cute colorful worms with a bunch of legs at it's beginning stage. After that they turn into a moth or a beautiful butterfly.
