To identify a spider, one must carefully identify the markings on the spider's body, the type of venom the spider uses, in addition to the habitat where the spider is found. All these provide important clues on how to identify spiders. Also, there are specific books on spiders and internet information about them as well.

Spiders are usually identified by two common factors. First Count the legs. Second count how many body sections the insect has.

The best way to indentify a spider or any other type of insect is to get a book on identifying spiders, kill the specimen, and then look into the book to see if you can find it.

In general, a spider can be identified by the fact that it has 8 legs instead of 6 like insects do. Also, the spider generally has a head and body rather than 3 distinct body parts because insects like ants also have an abdomen. Specific spiders can be identified by color, size, and markings.

Spiders are very easy to pick out of a crowd. They aren't really insects at all. If you count their legs you will find that they all have eight. They also have a head with a small set of fangs.
