You need to have a different type of graphics card called a tv card or have a vga cable that goes directly from the xbox to the monitor.

Plug the rca (red white and yellow) cables into the red white an yellow holes on the tv. and make sure you are on the right channel. often labeled video 1, 2, 3, or front. If it's a HD tv with an hdmi cable, make sure your tv is on the right channel: hdmi 1, 2, or 3
