How do you go about patching jeans?

I will cut away loose threads near the edge of the hole ,postion an iron on demin on the underside of the fabric,press the patch with an iron to fuse it to the fabric, After that I will look for decorative products to cover the holes using machine or sew them into place on the portion where it's torn.

They should be on the inside. It gives a nice contrast look and keeps the hole from spreading. If it's on the outside it just looks bad.
