Towel dry your dog thoroughly and toss the towels in the wash. Spray a little vinegar in the air (but not on your pup! ). Light a few candles in safe spots throughout your home. If the weather is nice, open a window. Your dog and house will smell better soon.

In all actuality, the odor you are experiencing is due to bacteria who thrive on the wet hair of our canine friends. The best (and only 'true') cure is to simply bath your dog. To prevent the smell from occuring again, make sure to dry the dog's fur thoroughly.
