Empty a full bottle of hydrogen peroxide into a bucket, refill the bottle with tap water and add to the bucket. Add 2 rounded tablespoons of baking soda & 2 teaspoons of Dawn dish detergent to the bucket. Mix well, put it all over the dog, let stand for at least 10 minutes, then hose it off. Works wonders!

You can buy special shampoo (usually from your vet) that should get rid of the smell. Also washing him in tomato juice will help. If the dog brought the smell throughout your house as well set bowls of charcoal (like you grill with) around and it will absorb the smell.

If your dog smells like a skunk, try putting your dog in a bath of warm water and tomato sauce. After washing your dog in tomato sauce, wash your dog with a doggy shampoo or with a really good smelling hair shampoo. After that, your dog should smell much better.

Tomato juice is effective for getting skunk smell off of a dog. Use the tomato juice like soap, rub it all over the dog, then rinse and bathe.
