Well you have two options. You can either hire a professional exterminator to kill them or set some of your own traps. When doing it yourself you can be human and set traps that won't kill them and you can take them somewhere and release them.

Make sure the house is clean and keep food stuff safely locked. Avoid very dark unused spaces that are hideouts for mice and rats and then use rat poison so that you break the chain of reproduction. A cat that is trained to catch mice and rats would also do the magic and scare them away.
