First you need to seek medical care from a physcian, the spot may not even be a cyst as there are many things that it could be and needs to be diagnosed by a physcian, Also the only way to remove a cyst safely is to have it surgically removed, this will also prevent unnecessary scarring of home treatment.

Cysts will sometimes go away by themselves, but if they are deep within the skin, the only way to remove it is to see a dermatologist for a steroid injection.

Yes. Cysts can only be removed by a doctor. They will likely lance it, which removes liquid inside. They will also test to ensure it is not something more serious.
