How do you get pictures of fireworks?

I want some at a Fourth of July celebration.

The first thing you want to do is get yourself a tripod. Then set up everything ahead of time. Use a very slow shutter speed.

You're going to want a closed diaphragm and a long light exposure. Once you notice the fireworks are being launched, 5 seconds time exposure, and a 14 diaphragm number you should be ok with a nice photo of the fireworks exploding. Of course, your going to need a tripod too.
