Do you just put things in oil?

You have to use olive oil, or cooking oil. You can flavor them with clean, nonpesticide herbs. But after they are flavored remove the herb. There are many books on flavoring oils.

yes, you can put what ever you what in oils to flavor them. it doentmatter if its cooking oils or if its body oils.
