You want the house cosmetically appealing. Flashing should be seamless but should account for space between edge of roof and end of porch, ideally leave 18-24" overhang for rainy days.

Its pretty easy. Just lay down an undercoat of tar paper and then start putting on ashpalt singles from the bottom edge up. Just like you would with a regular roof.

Well it is not uncommon that you will have a leak on your roof. Here's how you will flash a porch roof. Remove any flashing, nails,and gently loosing it then replace new ones. Also paint your roof white so it becomes heat resistance and reflect of the sun, last longer.

This is not an easy job to do yourself. It is best to consult a professional for the advice. You will need to measure the roof to determine that amount of flashing you need. You will then need to cut and bend the flashing to fit and install with nails
