How do you find the volume of a liquid?

First, place the said liquid in a container. Then use measuring devices of your choice (cup, gallon, etc. ) and slowly pour the liquid into the device(s). Be sure your units are consistent -- you don't want to use gallons, then liters. Record on paper the volume as your pour the liquid.

One property of liquid is that it takes the shape of its container. You would need to use the volume formula of the shape of the container.
