You must log into the service's website (AIM, MSN, etc) and go into the account settings. From there, click deactivate or delete account and confirm. The site might ask you a security question in order to make sure you are indeed the user of the screen name.

If you mean an AOL screen name, you have to log into your account first and then you can delete it using the management interface screen. The instructions are included on the AOL help page.

Most sites don't allow you to "delete" a screen name. You can do it, however, through the companies customer service. Speak with a representative.

Go to the website that you used to sign up for your screen name (AOL, Yahoo, etc) and login. Once you are logged in, you should see an "account settings" page. This will allow you to delete your screen name.

If you are trying to delete a screen name from a chat client of some kind, right click on the name, and select Remove, or Delete. If you are the one using it, and want it deleted, contact the company who owns the software you are using, and request that they delete or disable it.

Go to your control panel and then to user's. From there you have the choice to change passwords, create or remove users as needed.
