How do you connect a VHS VCR to an HDTV?

Answer by  knightmare (1231)

Your VCR should have RCA cables (red, yellow, and white) or a coaxial cable (circle cable with a pin in it. Your HDTV has inputs for both of these. Look at the back, if you have RCA the red/white cable is audio and yellow is video. If you have coaxial, find a knob sticking out with a hole in it.

You can use the legacy compatible barrel connector with the tv. on channel 3 or 4 or you can use a pair of RCA connectors. If using the RCA connectors make sure that you connect to the output ports and not the input ports of the VCR. You will not get an hd picture with a VCR.
