Start by looking at the rear of both your VCR and the digital box, and then locate the red, white and yellow jacks. Using audio and video cables, connect them to the out jacks on the digital box to the in jacks on the VCR. That's the start.

You run the cable into the digital box. The digital box should have an out. You run out to the VCR. Then run out of the VCR to the TV.

The VCR, TV, and Digital box have multiple inputs and outputs. Most instructions will say to connect each one to the TV on a different input. If that is not possible then connect the VCR to the digital box and the digital box to the TV. If digital box goes through the VCR, the VCR will always be on.
