How do you change the relay in a heat pump?

Most new units have an external relay that will be located near the pump and is usually marked. Most of them just bolt on for easily install and removal. Make sure to shut off the electric to the relay before working on it.

Switch-off the electric power.Remove the cover for the electrical box.Remove the wires from the relay and pull the device from the electrical device.Mount the identical replacement unit in its place.
