How do you change out a kitchen hinge?

I keep thinking I'm going to ruin the whole door.

A single hinge? As long as you have a hinge of the same size and screw hole pattern, all you have to do is unscrew the old hinge and screw on the new one.

Unscrew the old hinge very carefully to avoid spoiling the wood beneath. Be sure the wood underneath is not rotted before installing a new hinge.
